Spanish Alphabet Pronunciation
The pronunciation of each letter has English phonetics next to it. You can also listen to the video below.
A – ah
B – bay
C – say
Ch- chay (This letter is no longer included in the alphabet, but it is still part of words.)
D – day
E – ay
F – ef-ay
G – hey
H – ah-chay
I – ee
J – hotuh
K – kah
L – el-ay
LL – ay-yay (This letter is no longer included in the alphabet, but it is still part of words. It sounds like yuh in tortilla.)
M – em-ay
N – en-ay
Ñ – en-yay
O – oh
P – pay
Q – koo
R – air-ay (Slightly roll your R by separating your lips instead of putting your lips together, then let your tongue hit the roof of your mouth and let air roll between your tongue and the roof of your mouth.)
RR – airray (Roll your R even more this time. This letter is no longer included in the alphabet, but it is still part of words. It sounds like yuh in tortilla.)
S – essay
T – tay
U – oo (Similar to “boo” or “moo” in English)
V – bay (V and B both sound like B in Spanish)
W – doh-blay-bay (This letter has different names depending on the country: doble b, doble u, or u-v doble)
X – eh-kees
Y – ee-gree-ay-guh
Z – say-tuh
